LOWER EAST SIDE APT
This was a small railroad apartment that required drastic functional reorganization and a stronger sense of entry. Cabinets and high-gloss closets were used to offset the cramped, narrow hallways. The cabinets afforded major storage, but even more importantly, they helped define distinct zones. White flooring for the hallways and black flooring for adjacent rooms demarcated circulation patterns and added visual variety to the linear layout.
